Mrs. Butterworth

This week Amy started taking some supplements to help while nursing Kate. (Fen-you-greek) is what's it's called. I'm not sure it's doing anything, but Kate seems to be getting bigger, so it can't be hurting anything. After being gone all week at some training in Camp Pendleton, I returned last night to see my beautiful wife and daughter. Everything looked the same; the house was in order, the baby was happy, but something was out of place. Then I figured it out. Something smelled like syrup. Not like someone had just finnished eating waffles or anything, but there was definitely syrup in the air. After some sniffing around I vectored in on Amy and concluded that she infact radiated a syrupy perfume of some kind. I'm not sure why it does this, but we've decided it's the fen-you-greek she's taking. I quickly came up with a new nickname for her, which I will call her until this stuff is out of her system.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year! For New Year my family got together in Utah. My cousin Aaron got married (congrats, Aaron!) on the 30th and then we had a family party at Jaeson's house on New Year's Eve. We always have a fun time together, even if nowadays we spend the majority of that time chasing kiddos around. I love my family!
p.s. The picture of my sisters and me outside is only posted because I thought the mountain looked amazing. I hope Amber and Courtney don't mind.

My All Purpose Husband

It seemed like Danny ran the show this Christmas. He sewed Kate's stocking, cooked Christmas Eve dinner, made gingerbread houses for the kids to decorate, and helped with crowd control (a full time job at Amber's house!). So if you were wondering what a scout sniper does in his free time...

Nativity

We joined Amber's family this year on Christmas Eve to act out Luke 2. Chris' brother's family came too, so we had plenty of actors to put on the production. As the youngest baby in the family, Kate got to be baby Jesus (we just took out her hair bow). I have great memories of doing this as a kid with my cousins, and I'm excited to pass that on to Kate.

Button Nose

Danny's nickname for Kate is "Button" because of her cute button nose. And because she's as cute as a button. I wonder if it'll catch on (Danny's family calls him "Gadget" because he loved fixing things as a kid, and also because he loved the show "Inspector Gadget." They love nicknames).

Best Friends

Kate and Oscar have become pretty good friends.

She's Mobile!

On Dec. 21st our world changed forever. Kate became mobile!!! She only crawls when she's super motivated to get to something, and usually it's something she's not allowed to have (power chords, Oscar's bone, technological gadgets, etc.). So even though she's keeping us a lot busier than before, we're having a great time watching her inch worm around. So cute!
