Thanksgiving 2008 was quite a party! We had dinner with my sister Amber and her family (who made our personalized turkey table settings shown above), and then spent the evening at my Uncle D's house for some dessert and swimming (They heated the pool to 98 degrees-it was perfect!). It was great to catch up with family and stuff ourselves with good food.
This is the first time I (Amy) tested out my "new eyes" in the pool. I had Lasik eye surgery done in June. It was fabulous!!!!
My Grandma Bonnie is beautiful, isn't she?!

Veterans' Day Weekend
For our Veterans' Day Weekend we loaded up the pup and drove out to Amber and Chris' place. We had lofty ideas of spending the weekend in Los Angeles or Santa Monica, but somehow it was slowly whittled down to sticking around Riverside and playing with the kids. It turned out to be a great time. The kids were cute & funny, Oscar was pretty well behaved (although he pooped about a million times), and we were able to make it out to LA/ Hollywood for an evening on the town. We walked the Stars on Hollywood Blvd, saw the hand prints in front of that Chinese Theater place, and even saw a midget dressed up like Chucky. We also went to the Griffith Observatory/ Museum- which was pretty cool. For dinner we went to Raffi's Place in Glendale. If you're looking for some Mediterranean ethnic food, and don't mind the hoards of Armenians, we recommend it (Stay away from the yogurt soda).

The Car
A few weeks ago I took Amy's car into work. While it was parked overnight someone creamed the front bumper- and left without a trace. (Or so they thought). When I returned the following day to inspect the damage and drive home, I discovered some tire chunks that had been left on the ground infront of the car as well as some rubber scraped off inside the bumper. Well, to make a long story short, using those pieces of rubber and some good old combat tracking, I found the truck that hit our car and was able to solve what was originally a hit and run. Total money saved: Over $2,000!
The Life of a Marine Wife
Amy's been pretty good at adapting to the life of a Marine wife. I'm pretty sure she had no idea what she was getting herself into when she started dating me. In her defense however, she didn't stand much of a chance. Here's a couple of pictures of the daily life with Danny Gibson: Bulletproof Plates in the dish rack, naps with Oscar.
Amy's Birthday
Amy celebrated her 28th...yes, 28th birthday this year. Not wanting to draw too much attention to the fact that she's getting old, I decided to keep it very low key. So low key infact that I really didn't put any effort into the matter. Actually, I think I was out in the field on that day so I couldn't even be here for it. Luckily, Amber and the kids picked up the slack and took her out for a good time. I did manage to send some flowers to Amy at Amber's house, but as luck would have it Amy left before the flowers showed up.. so I looked like a retard. Oh well.
