Halloween 2009

We've both agreed that this is going to somehow come around and bite us in the butt later on in life, but we could not pass up the opportunity to dress Kate up as Kim Jung Il for Halloween. For those who may not know, Kim Jung Il is the evil dictator of North Korea who happens to have the same hair-do as Kate. It was an easy fit.

New Discoveries
Here are Kate's latest discoveries:
1. Her fingers are tasty
2. Her toes are tasty too.
2. Her toes are lips (sucking on lower lip) are fun toys.
4. Like her dad, she looks great in camouflage.

Kate laughs
It's amazing how much Kate changes everyday. Kate's "tricks" change too, which has turned me into a compulsive picture and video taker. Who knows if the trick she's doing today will be replaced by something else tomorrow? So here's some of her most recent tricks (disclaimer: I use the word "trick" loosely). She did this thing for awhile where she'd only "talk" to us if we were really close to her face. And then she figured out how to make the most annoying squaking sound in the world (but it's Kate so somehow it's still cute). She also just started laughing at humans (the first time she laughed was at my parent's dog, Sugar). She just found her toes esterday, and has even found her lips. She sucks on her bottom lip-it's meltingly cute...I'll try to get pictures.
Here's the close talk:

Kate and Oscar
Kate LOVES being outside. Since it's still 100 degrees during the day, we don't get out much. But the back porch is shady enough that we can enjoy a few minutes at a time outside.

Kate's Blessing Day
Kate was blessed on August 23rd in Loveland. She cried the whole time, but Danny wasn't too distracted (in some of war training he completed a few years ago, they used audio of a crying baby as torture). The whole family came, which made it so special for us. Also, Kate was blessed in the same dress that I was blessed in almost 30 years ago! Quite a memorable day.
